The declared 30-day quarantine over the entire Luzon has just started. Panic and boredom are hitting us right now, and aside from planning activities you can do at home to keep yourselves sane, you should also stay safe and keep an eye on your health. It’s no surprise that there are lots of tips you can find online on how to fight the virus. These tips even add up each week: the one with the garlic, gargling salt water, and bananas! I don’t know with you, but I find these things crazy. There’s just one tip that I believe in: stay healthy.
What should you do in order to stay healthy? Exercise, get enough sleep, drink tons of water, and have a balanced diet.
While I always get eight hours of sleep, exercise at least thirty minutes every day, and bring a water tumbler wherever I go, my mom and I decided to spice up our greens intake a little. She bought a bag of spinach during the weekend and there were still a few left. So we made a green smoothie rather than adding it to our dishes, which we normally do.
You already know how essential green leafy vegetables are in a healthy diet. They are packed with nutrients and minerals. They boost your immune system that helps you fight off sickness.
If you’re not a fan of green leafy vegetables, this is a fun and delicious way for you to include them in your diet. You won’t even taste the spinach!
If you haven’t done this before, I’d like to share the recipe of the smoothie I made yesterday. It contained one mango, one banana, half a pear, and a handful of spinach. I had almonds, dried cranberries, and chia seeds as toppings and to add texture.
